Unique fire resistant web tape for air cargo

Fire resistant web tape

There are many fire safety requirements applicable to materials, especially in aviation. But even if a material meets such a requirement, it is still very important to test materials in real-world worst-case scenarios as well. For example, a material when incorporated into a product may perform differently than during an isolated clinical materials test. Also, worst-case scenarios may provide different conditions and different results than in the laboratory.

The above video shows in a simple test what happens to standard commonly used air cargo web tire. This is FAR 25.853 certified webbing in different sizes, from different suppliers. Despite the certification, this is in our view a totally unacceptable performance in terms of fire safety. This prompted us to develop webbing that is truly long-lasting fire resistant.
Together with our partners, we succeeded in developing a unique webbing that meets all the requirements for air cargo and has a long-lasting fire resistance!

Fire resistant webbing 25mm
In developing this fire resistant web tape, we used our extensive years of experience with air cargo. Of course this webbing also complies with FAR25.853.
In addition to applications in air cargo, this band is suitable for all situations where the securing of cargo is associated with fire safety. For example, the transport and storage of lithium-ion batteries or flammable goods.
KMA webbing is available exclusively from KMA Group.
