LI Fire Suppression Kit
The Lithium Fire Suppression Kit (extinguisher kit) is a complete kit for safely and quickly controlling a Lithium battery fire. Compact and portable, the kit is specifically designed for small spaces or enclosed areas such as aircraft, vessels or vehicles.

How does the LI Suppression Kit work?
Procedure for a thermal incident:
- Extinguish the battery fire with the 2 liter fire extinguisher
- Put on the fire resistant gloves.
- Place the extinguished appliance, the extinguished battery in the containment bag
- Close the bag according to the instructions
The bag is designed for a worst-case scenario where an unextinguished 100 percent fully charged battery is placed in the bag in thermal runaway. No flames, sparks or metal parts come out and the outside of the bag stays cool enough to prevent damage to the environment. With the unique ‘flame arrester’, the excessive gases are expelled so the bag remains intact even with batteries over 300Wh.

Fire Safety Lithium-Ion Batteries
Lithium batteries are generally very safe, yet thermal incidents cannot be ruled out as a result of, for example, overcharging, damage, manufacturing defects or overheating. If a lithium battery goes into thermal runaway, a dangerous situation arises immediately with extremely high temperatures, bright flames and flying (metal) parts. A large quantity of dangerous gases is also released. Depending on the type of battery, this can be as much as 0.7 liters of gas per watt hour. LI battery fires have a unique fire behavior which makes them impossible to fight with regular extinguishers. Lith-Ex AVD has been specially developed for extinguishing and controlling battery fires quickly and effectively.
